The Center of Excellence in Fungal Research Ranked 1st in the World

      The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has ranked the Center of Excellence in Fungal Research at Mae Fah Luang University as the 1st university out of 1,000 universities worldwide in the Mycology category. In this regard, MFU would like to congratulate all the researchers and staff of the Center of Excellence in Fungal Research for their great achievement. 

      CWUR has been publishing the only academic ranking of global universities that assesses the quality of education, alumni employment, research output, and citations without relying on surveys and university data submissions since 2012. The ranking was based on eight indicators: Quality of Education, Alumni Employment, Quality of Faculty, Publications, Influence, Citations, Broad Impact and Patents.

      With the hard work and dedication, the Center of Excellence in Fungal Research was recognized globally as the number one in the field of Mycology with a full score. The great success indicated the position of the centre as a best research centre in Thailand, Asia and the world.

      All in all, the centre will fully support the study of fungi and consistently implement to increase number of PhD. students, the number of MFU papers being published in international academic journals and foster research cooperation with research scientists in Thailand and abroad. Additionally, the centre will contribute to improving people’s well-being and enhancing the sustainable development of community and Thailand especially in the fields of agriculture, medicine and fungal products by providing community with fungal research, innovation, academic services and training in fungi diversity and its application.
