On 23 March 2018, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar H.E. Mr. Jukr Boon-Long visited Mae Fah Luang University to strengthen relations and discuss cooperation and scholarships possibilities between MFU and Myanmar.
With the strong intention of fostering human resources for Thailand and the Greater Mekong sub-region, MFU considered to hold short courses especially in Tourism, Management, Aviation, Accounting, Finance as well as Practical Nursing for students in Myanmar to meet the needs of people and labour market.
Moreover, MFU President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana offered scholarships for Myanmar students selected from the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon to enroll in master’s and doctoral degree programs at MFU.
MFU also purposed to hold the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for improving access to health care services of people in nearby regions, starting from the Kyaing Tong Township by offering the Princess Mother’s health-promoting mobile medical unit and dental service projects. Altogether, both parties expect that their cooperation in terms of education and community services will establish a strong relationship between them and support sustainable development of the region.
