MFU Organises the Music Festival Commemorating the 69th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

On 20 April 2024, Mae Fah Luang University, in collaboration with government and private sectors, organised the Music Festival Commemorating the 69th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the utmost auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 69th birthday anniversary (2 April) at the Queen Sirikit 72nd Jubilee Sport Arena (Indoor Stadium), Mae Fah Luang University. 

There were guests of honour attending the event namely Mrs. Supapan Muncharoen, Vice Governor of Chiang Rai Province; Mrs. Ubonrat Puangpinyo, Vice Governor of Chiang Rai Province; General Ratnasit Jamrattanakul, representative of the 37th Military District in Chiang Rai; Police Colonel Arnanchak Kanoknoppawat, representative of Chiang Rai Provincial Police; Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of Mae Fah Luang University Council; Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University; and Mr. Suwit Jaipom, Chiang Rai Artist (charcoal drawing).

The Music Festival Commemorating the 69th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was organised in an expression of loyalty to the Monarchy and profound gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s immeasurable benevolence for the Thai people. It featured 21 songs consisting of the Royal Compositions, soul-stirring songs, songs about gratitude for the Monarchy, and songs about talents of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, performed by MFU Band, MFU Thai Classical Music Club, MFU Thai Traditional Dance club, the 37th Military District, and students from many schools in Chiang Rai.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University stated that Mae Fah Luang University has received royal patronage from the Royal Family since its establishment. The university was granted the royal bestowed name "Mae Fah Luang" to commemorate and carry on the aspiration of "Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother of King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great". Founded during the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the university has adopted the Princess Mother's principle of "restoring forests and cultivating people", and embraced His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great's initiatives on forest preservation as its core principles since inception. Additionally, the university integrates the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and the "Understanding, Accessing, and Developing" principle in its work with surrounding communities striving for sustainable progress and prosperity.

Furthermore, over the years, Mae Fah Luang University has been immensely graced by the benevolence of the Royal Family, through their royal attendance, support, and guidance. The university is deeply grateful for this boundless compassion, particularly from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Her exceptional kindness is exemplified by her gracious presence at various university events throughout the years. Notably, with the permission of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, Her Royal Highness has presided over and conferred degrees on behalf of Their Majesties at Mae Fah Luang University's commencement ceremonies.
