MFU President Gives Speech in the UASR Presidents' Forum 2021

     On 19 November 2021, the President of Mae Fah Luang University, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri participated in the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR) Presidents' Forum 2021 co-hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University, China and Politecnico di Milano, Italy under a theme of “University's Responsibility and Mission in Society” via Zoom Meeting platform. 

     This online forum aimed at providing opportunities for presidents to share their insights and concerns about contributions that universities can make towards socioeconomic development in the post-pandemic era.

     In the forum, MFU President gave a speech on a topic of "Paradigm Shift of International Cooperation in the Next Normal" sharing some current strategies and actions that have been implemented at MFU. Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri stated that MFU has provided the full support to both lecturers and students in terms of upgrading digital infrastructure, training in modern teaching and learning pedagogies, supporting internet SIM cards and setting technical consultancy team. The University also promotes the paradigm shift of international cooperation with partner universities in terms of academic cooperation, research collaboration and international networking. MFU has strong determination to transform and modify itself in all dimensions to ensure that all missions really respond to new demand, new skills, new local and global trends. This transformation will prepare MFU students for being a future ready professionals and global citizens.

     The UASR (University Alliance of the Silk Road) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation initiated by Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2015. It aimed at building collaborative platforms in higher education and foster regional openness and synergies in regards to talent education, scientific research, cultural dissemination, policy studies, and medical service. Now, there are nearly 151 universities from 38 countries and regions participated in this alliance.
