International Scholarship Student Meet the Vice President Event

     On 28 October 2022, the Global Relations Division organised “the International Scholarship Student Meet the Vice President Event” at M for U to officially welcome all scholarship students to Mae Fah Luang University. This event also aimed to provide a valuable opportunity for scholarship students to meet and socialize with friends from other schools and countries.

     In her report, Ms. Wannapha Thippayasak, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division stated that the year, 2022, marked the 17th year since MFU has awarded scholarships to international students in 2005. The main purpose of the scholarships is to encourage international students who have strong academic backgrounds to excel in their area of study at Mae Fah Luang University. The scholarships are also expected to promote international relationships as well as further strengthen friendship and understanding between Thailand and neighbouring countries through our joint efforts in fostering the human resources of the region. Furthermore, MFU Scholarships for International Students has already supported a total of 300 scholars, in which 207 students successfully graduated while 93 students are now studying on campus.  

     In this academic year 2022, MFU has welcomed 29 scholarship students including 9 bachelor’s degree students, 11 master’s degree students and 9 doctoral degree students from Antigua and Barbuda, Bhutan, Botswana, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Japan, Kenya, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Togo.

     Additionally, during her welcoming address, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nantana Gajaseni, Vice President of Mae Fah Laung University recommended that scholarship students maintain study-life balance, learn knowledge and skills they are interested in, as well as establish connection with friends from different countries. The learning and living experience at MFU would help prepare them for the fast changing work environment. She also encouraged scholarship students to be aware of the responsibilities in studies to achieve a meaningful accomplishment, both for themselves, their family and for their own country.

     Furthermore, there were speeches of three representatives from international scholarship students expressing their feelings, expectations and suggestions for improvement.
