On 9 February 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri, President of Mae Fah Luang University welcomed 14 medical students from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) led by Dr.Brian Garvey who has participated in the Cross Border Health Programme 2/2023.
The Cross Border Health Programme 2/2023 has been held by the School of Health Science and the Center for Academic Services from 6 – 17 February 2023 at Mae Fah Laung University and other locations in Chiang Rai province. This programme aims to provide opportunity for medical students from Oregon Health and Science University to learn and exchange knowledge on public health system as well as immerse themselves in Thai culture. Moreover, the programme is expected to promote the research network between MFU and OHSU in the fields of health science, public health, nursing, medicine, dentistry and cross-border healthcare system.
During the programme, participants have visited MFU Medical Centre Hospital, Institute of Thai – Chinese Traditional Medicine Hospital, the School of Health Science, the School of Nursing, Chiangral Provincial Public Health Office, Mae Sai- Chiang Saen border, Tham Luang Khun Nam Nang Non, etc.
