On 5 April 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chayaporn Wattanasiri, President of Mae Fah Luang University and Prof. Dr.Kaye Chon, Dean and Chair Professor from Walter & Wendy Kwok Family Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University signed the MoUs for student exchange and internship exchange, plus agreement to proceed to pursue a dual degree upon fine details to be completed between the School of Management, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) at Kham Mok Luang room, Mae Fah Luang University.
The agreements aim to promote exchange programme and internship programme at undergraduate level between Mae Fah Luang University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition, the two universities aim to pursue a dual degree upon fine details to be completed in the fields of tourism, events, hotel and hospitality management that will allow students to study two years at MFU and another two years at PolyU and receive two bachelor’s degrees. This cooperation will indeed support the promotion of all-round development of students and advance education and training within the tourism and hospitality context.
Moreover, after the MoU signing ceremony, Prof. Dr.Kaye Chon visited MFU facilities including M for U: one-stop service centre, M the Food project: the Culinary Training Center, and MFU Aviation Business Training Center. He also gave a special talk on topic of “Innovations and Leadership in Hospitality and Tourism” under the MFU Visiting Scholars Programme hosted by the School of Management.
