On 17 March 2024, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation visited Chiang Rai province to inspect Mae Fah Luang University’s projects. During the visit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University led MFU executives to warmly welcome the Minister and provide information about Young Smart Farmer; Research, Technology, and Innovation for SMEs/Community enterprises; and Chiang Rai Creative City project.
The Minister visited the Ozone Farm to observe a smart farming system under Young Smart Farmer project. The farm has received support from MFU Science Park through the utilization of science, technologies and innovations for organic farming in order to increase the quantity and quality of products while reducing the costs and farming’s impact on the environment.
Furthermore, the Minister examined the results under Research, Technology, and Innovation for SMEs/Community enterprises project supported by MFU Science Park at Health Herb Center Co., Ltd. in Mae Sai sub-district and later visited Singhaklai House, Mod Chana Phai Foundation to learn about the Chiang Rai Creative City project. Mae Fah Laung University has cooperated with Chiang Rai Provincial Administrative Organisation in driving Chiang Rai towards being registered as Creative City of Design recognised by UNESCO.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation was scheduled to visit Chiang Rai and Pha Yao province to discuss and exchange perspectives with higher education institutions and attend the second Mobile Cabinet Meeting of 2024 for the Upper Northern Provincial Cluster 2 (Chiang Rai, Nan, Phayao, and Phrae) during 16 – 19 March 2024.
