On 26 July 2024, Mae Fah Luang University’s the French-Upper Mekong Sub-region Academic Cooperation Centre and the Global Relations Division co-hosted the "Harmony in Motion: Mae Fah Luang University Celebrates the Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony" at Networking Space, M for you Centre. The purpose of this event is to foster an international atmosphere on campus and celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as a symbol of peace and harmony.
The event included two main sessions: the afternoon session led by Miss Flavie Lepoutre, Director of the French-Upper Mekong Sub-region Academic Cooperation Centre, featured a special talk on the Olympic Games 2024, French language games, and a taste of French cuisine.
The evening session, guided by Dr.Nichan Singhaputargun, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division, included experience exchanges and a live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Also, there was a special exhibition entitled " En route pour 2024", supported by Alliance Française Chiangrai. It showcased 24 sport-themed photographs. The exhibition will run until 11 August 2024. Additionally, students and staff can watch the Paris 2024 Olympics live at Networking Space, M for you Centre, throughout the games.
Held every four years in different host countries rotating among member nations, the Olympic Games are more than just a sporting event. The Olympic Movement strives to build a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind, and promoting mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play. Athletes participating in the competition serve as goodwill ambassadors, fostering international relations and promoting unity.
