On 22 October 2024, a delegation from Kunming Medical University (KMU) led by Vice President Prof. YIN Jianzhong, visited Mae Fah Luang University to deepen collaborative partnership and discuss further cooperation in medicine and health science.
Prof. Dr.Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, led representatives from the School of Medicine, the School of Integrative Medicine, and the School of Health Science in welcoming the delegation. Following presentations from each school highlighting their implementations and potential areas for collaboration, the discussions focused on academic cooperation in research, students and faculty exchange, international conferences, online seminars, and visiting scholar programmes.
Moreover, the KMU delegation visited MFU’s medical facilities, including the School of Medicine, Institute of Thai-Chinese Traditional Medicine, MFU Hospital, and MFU Medical Center Hospital, to observe medical services and the Cancer and Immunology Research Unit (CIRU).
MFU and KMU have maintained a partnership since 2015, renewing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2020. Both universities are members of the South and Southeast Asian Medical Education and Service Alliance (SSAMESA). The alliance was founded to establish long-term cooperation in medical education, research, and health service, aiming to improve the quality of medical education and service between China and countries in South and Southeast Asia.
This visit served as a valuable opportunity for both universities to exchange knowledge and best practices in medical treatments and clinical trials, contributing significantly to the advancement of global medical education and healthcare.
