Staff Mobility Programme for University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, Poland

On 2 – 6 December 2024, a delegation from University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Nysa, Poland, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Piet Agata, Lecturer in Architecture and Coordinator for International Relations at the Department of Architecture, and Ms. Dagmara Bojda, Coordinator for International Cooperation Office, participated in a Staff Mobility programme at Mae Fah Luang University.

The programme aimed to provide an opportunity for UAS representatives to engage in mutual knowledge exchange and professional development activities, to explore potential joint initiatives and academic partnerships, and to gain insights into the administrative and academic environment at Mae Fah Luang University.

During the programme, the UAS delegation delivered special talks on "Unlocking Opportunities: Strategies for Securing ERASMUS+ Funding" and "Explore Your Future: Study Abroad and Staff Mobility Opportunities at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, Poland" to MFU staff and students.  The talks provided practical techniques and strategic approaches to understanding and successfully applying for funding under the ERASMUS+ programme, as well as scholarship information to inspire participants to study abroad. 

In addition, Mr. Lin Wai Phyo, a fourth-year student from the School of Health Science, shared his experience as an exchange student and Ms. Warunee Kaewbunruang, an administrative officer from the Global Relations Division, shared her experience as exchange staff under the ERASMUS+ programme at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa. 

They also engaged in an MFU campus tour to visit academic facilities, the hospital, and research centers, as well as participated in cultural exchange activities with MFU staff members.

To enhance academic partnerships, the UAS delegates met with representatives from the School of Applied Digital Technology, the School of Cosmetic Science, the School of Health Science, the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Innovation to discuss collaborations in student mobility programmes (Exchange and ERASMUS+), joint degree programmes and curricula development, faculty and staff mobility opportunities, and joint research.

In addition, UAS representatives exchanged their experiences with staff members from the Global Relations Division, MFU, through a good practice sharing session. This session aimed to encourage constructive discussions and experience sharing that can be applied to improve international affairs-related work performance and develop new initiatives. The sharing session focused on the implementation of internationalization, the promotion of exchange programmes for both students and staff, the network of international relations personnel, and sustainable and effective ways of establishing international collaborations. It helped expand knowledge, skills, perspectives of international affairs staff to become more resilient in the multicultural work environment and the rapidly changing world.

Mae Fah Luang University and the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa have maintained a strong relationship through collaborative activities, including staff and student exchange under ERASMUS+ programme, since 2022. This visit not only provided a valuable opportunity for the two universities to strengthen the relationship, share best practices, and further develop collaborative projects but also promoted internationalization at home and cross-cultural understanding, contributing to enhancing the global education excellence of both universities.
