On 23 – 26 January 2025, the School of Medicine, Mae Fah Luang University, in collaboration with the Thai Medical Physicists Society (TMPS) and the South East Asian Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (SEAFOMP), organised the 23rd South-East Asian Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP) and 16th Annual Meeting of Thai Medical Physicist Society (TMPS) at the Heritage Chiang Rai Hotel and Convention. This conference directly supports MFU's mission to promote well-being and a sustainable future.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr.Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of Mae Fah Luang University Council, welcomed all participants from various regions.
The conference, themed "Inspiring the Next Generation of Medical Physicists," featured interactive pre-congress workshops on “Integrating AI-Driven Bridge in Postgraduate Medical Physics Education and Training” and “Measuring the MTF of CT Scanners,” as well as scientific sessions. Among the highlights of the conference were keynote lectures by international speakers such as "Smart Ideas Are Not Enough – The Role of Technological Innovations in Physics Applications for Medicine," presented by Dr.Martin Handschin Grossmann, and "The current and emerging revolution in ultrasound imaging technology," presented by Dr.John Owen Gibson, a lecturer from the School of Medicine.
The conference offered participants a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge discussions, share research findings, and collaborate with fellow professionals in fields of radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine imaging. All sessions were designed to advance collective knowledge and foster innovation in the field of medical physics among young medical physicists in Southeast Asia.
