On 4 April 2025, the Global Relations Division, in collaboration with the School of Agro-Industry, School of Liberal Arts, and School of Management, organised MFU Go Global 2025 under the theme “Global Horizons: Unlocking Opportunities, Inspiring Journeys” at the Queen Sirikit 72nd Jubilee Sport Arena (Indoor Stadium). The event was held to offer students with international learning experiences and prepare them to become global citizens.
This year’s event was adapted to reflect the recent earthquake in Myanmar. Prior to the start of the programme, all participants observed a one-minute moment of silence in remembrance of the victims and to express solidarity with Myanmar students and the people of Myanmar.
The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including:
• Inspiration Talk: “Opportunities Unlocked” and Special Talk: “From Exchange Student to Global Changemaker” — platforms for exchange students and alumni to share inspiring real-life experiences from international exchange programmes.
• Study Abroad Fair and Go Global Info Session — informative sessions on international exchange opportunities.
• MFU International Food & Cultural Workshop Booths— showcasing cuisine and cultures from various countries, including special dishes from the “Five Chiang” region (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Chiang Thong, Chiang Tung, and Chiang Rung.) and meals prepared by international students from various countries such as Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, and USA. In addition to the food, there were also cultural workshop booths presented by the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center, the Institute for Mekong Basin Civilization Art and Culture, and a group of Korean students. These booths promoted cultural learning through a variety of interactive activities, including watching and hands-on experiences.
• Youth Booths — spaces for young people to showcase their talents and creative ideas, and a simulated entrepreneurial environment for students to explore business opportunities.
Moreover, a Fundraising Booth was set up by the Myanmar Students' Organization at MFU to support those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar. All proceeds from the sale of food and goods will go toward relief efforts and to provide encouragement to the affected communities.
All activities were not only entertaining but also served as a vibrant cultural learning space, helping to prepare students who were part of the organisers to learn to work with friends from different cultures and attendees to become global citizens who understand diversity and are ready to adapt to multicultural societies. MFU Go Global 2025 exemplifies Mae Fah Luang University’s strong commitment to promoting internationalization, cultural diversity, and preparing students to become true global citizens.
