Categories: ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษ

Mae Fah Luang University continues to strengthen the university’s readiness for emergencies by organising a flood disaster response workshop and simulation drill based on the Incident Command System (ICS) standards. The event took place from 8–9 June 2025 at the Kham Mok Luang Room, M-Square Building, and was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of MFU.

On 8 June, internal exercises were conducted involving the university’s executive team and relevant personnel. The session featured expert speakers from various schools, including the School of Management, School of Nursing, School of Health Science, and School of Integrative Medicine. The content covered a wide range of preparedness measures, including:
•    An overview of the flood situation in Chiang Rai province and the areas surrounding MFU.
•    Presentation of the university’s flood response operation plan.
•    Demonstration of the MFU Matrix, outlining different levels of command in the event of flooding.
•    A summary of MFU’s comprehensive emergency response plan.

On 9 June 2025, MFU extended its cooperation with local agencies in Chiang Rai by inviting key representatives to observe the flood drill. Attendees included Colonel Paisan Uppaphan, Deputy Commander of the 37th Military Circle Disaster Relief Center; Major Prawit Chanthasaen, Civil Affairs Officer; Pol. Col. Chonlathit Chatchawan, Deputy Commander of Chiang Rai Provincial Police; and Mr. Praphat Sithi, Head of Emergency Operations, Chiang Rai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office. Their participation aimed to strengthen local collaboration and build a more robust network for regional disaster response.

This preparedness effort is designed to ensure that teaching and learning can continue without interruption during emergencies. The plan also includes provisions for managing university access routes, offering immediate aid, preparing temporary shelters, and securing food and drinking water supplies. In addition, MFU has established communication channels for real-time updates, emergency assistance requests, and systematic dissemination of information and response plans—ensuring timely and effective action during any crisis.
