The 4^th New Southbound Policy Elite Study Programme

Mae Fah Luang University is pleased to announce the application opening for students to participate in the 4^th New Southbound Policy Elite Study Programme, hosted by National Quemoy University (NQU), Taiwan. This fully funded international mobility programme offers a unique opportunity for students to enhance academic and cross-cultural learning experiences, while exploring Taiwan’s innovation, business, tourism, and culture.

The programme includes intensive Mandarin language learning, field trips, cultural activities, and industry visits, all designed to empower students with future-ready global competencies.

Who Can Apply?/Qualifications

• Be MFU students at undergraduate and graduate levels in any field of study (have studied at least one semester in university) 
• Have a good command of English
• Be interested in the Mandarin Language 
• Be in a good physical condition
• Receive permission from his/her parents to participate in this programme
• Be responsible for all expenses that occurred during the study
• Have strong motivation to go aboard
• Committed to full participation throughout the programme duration
• Must hold a valid passport for international travel

Full Scholarship Offer:

Selected MFU students will receive:

• Free round-trip flight tickets
• Free dormitory accommodation
• Monthly allowance (NTD 7,000/month during stay at NQU)
• Free intensive Mandarin courses (by NQU Chinese Language Center)
• Business & tourism industries visits
• Free cultural activities

1. Complete the Application Forms:

• NQU Application Form 

2. Prepare the Required Documents in PDF file:
 2.1 Academic Transcript (Request via REG)
 2.2 Certificate of Student Status (Request via REG)
 2.3 Parental Consent Form with copy of parent’s ID/passport (Digital signature accepted)
 2.4 Advisor Consent Form (Digital signature accepted)
 2.5 Dean Consent Form (Digital signature accepted)
 2.6 Copy of your passport
Note: Students must have a valid passport before submitting the application form.
 2.7 Additional Support Documents (Awards/Certificates/Language Proficiency Test Certificated/Any Other Appropriate Materials)

3. Submit all application forms and documents

4. Join an Online Interview via ZOOM
Date: 30 June 2025
Time: Afternoon (Exact time will be confirmed by email)
A confirmation email with the Zoom link will be sent after your application is received.

Important Note:
The final selection and decision of scholarship awardees will be made by National Quemoy University (NQU). MFU will screen and nominate eligible candidates, but the awarding of scholarships is at the sole discretion of NQU.

Additional Conditions:

• Students must retain their MFU student status throughout the programme period.
• Students who plan to transfer credits from NQU to MFU must contact their academic advisor and school in advance for approval.
• Students participating in this exchange may retain eligibility for honors or academic awards in accordance with MFU’s Bachelor’s Degree Regulations B.E. 2542.
