On 27 June 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, met with academic and support staff for the annual “Meet the President” event. This gathering served as a crucial platform to aimed to communicate the university’s key development policies, uniting all MFU personnel in driving the university towards a secure and sustainable future.
During her address, the President outlined MFU’s comprehensive development direction under the guiding concept of “New / Different / Better.” She reaffirmed the university’s identity as a “University of Opportunity,” committed to cultivating people, generating knowledge, and enhancing the quality of life for students, staff, and the surrounding community.
MFU is steadfastly progressing toward the vision of becoming “a leading university in ASEAN with international recognition.” This is achieved through advancing research, innovation, education, and healthcare services, guided by strategic plans covering five key areas:
1. Developing human capital for a future
2. Research advancement for innovation
3. Promotion of good health and well-being
4. Efficient resource management
5. Sustainable community development
Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn also shared MFU’s long-term vision of becoming a regional hub for both education and healthcare. As an Education Hub, MFU aims to meet the needs of future learners by providing open and inclusive learning opportunities. Simultaneously, as a Medical Hub, the university is developing a comprehensive healthcare system, aspiring to become a center of medical excellence in Northern Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion.
The event also highlighted progress on several key initiatives, including:
• “MFU to the Moon”: A programme promoting staff well-being
• The transition to “MFU Net Zero Campus”: a sustainable effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
• Expansion of staff welfare under the concept of a “Well-being System” that addresses all aspects of life, including physical and mental health, job security, financial stability, family life, and a supportive working environment
In addition, MFU is embracing smart technologies to transform into a Smart Campus / Smart Hospital. This includes the adoption of Wi-Fi 6, a Single Sign-On system, the MFU Life app to support learning, an intelligent security system, and AI chatbot “Din Din” to enhance modern and sustainable services. This “Meet the President” event not only served as a platform for policy communication but also contributed to cultivating an organisational culture grounded in integrity, sustainability, and holistic development.
