MFU Shines at Startup Thailand League 2025: Klora Team Wins First Prize, MFU Named "University of the Year"

Mae Fah Luang Intellectual Property Management and Innovation Division (MFii) led three teams MFU student teams who advanced from the Northern regional round to the Startup Thailand League 2025 Final Pitching. This event, organised by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation and its partners, was a part of SITE 2025 (Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo), held at Siam Paragon, Bangkok from 4 – 6 July 2025. The competition aimed to foster innovation among youth in higher education by encouraging them to transform their ideas into innovative startups capable of competing at both the national and global levels.

The Klora team secured the First Prize, receiving a 50,000 Baht award and a trophy, for their innovative effervescent tablet product. This product utilises biotechnology to maintain floral freshness in an effervescent tablet form, effectively extending the lifespan of flowers and adding commercial value to the floriculture and horticulture industries.

Two other MFU teams were also selected to showcase their prototypes at the Final Exhibition:

The Bactron team developed Fish Guard, a bio-enhancement agent utilizing bacteriophage technology to boost immunity in freshwater animals. This product is a further development of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nanthanit Jaruseranee’s research on “Anti-biofilm activity of Phages against Pseudomonas aeruginosa TISTR1287.”

The EZspa team developed an innovative seedless scrub made from Phulae pineapple extract, utilising Enzymatic Exfoliant Innovation. This innovation provides a gentle exfoliation process that minimizes skin irritation often caused by traditional scrubs containing abrasive particles.

In addition to the impressive team achievements, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) received the prestigious “University of the Year” award from the Startup Thailand League 2025 programme. This award is a testament to the university’s strong ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship. It reflects the outstanding potential of MFU students to develop market-ready innovations, as well as the unwavering support provided by lecturers across various disciplines.

This success not only affirms the high quality of education at MFU but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of students to become innovation-driven entrepreneurs, capable of driving sustainable economic and social development.
