On 28 August 2025, the Global Relations Division organised the International Scholarship Students Meet the President Event to warmly welcome scholarship students to Mae Fah Luang University and provide them with a valuable opportunity to meet and socialize with peers from different schools and countries.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Nichan Singhaputtangkul, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division, delivered a report, followed by welcoming remarks from Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University. In her remark, the President stated that for 27 years, Mae Fah Luang University has strived to be a leading university, with a commitment to promoting well-being and sustainable future for people in our region and beyond. MFU is determined to continue this mission, and scholarship students are now an essential part of it.
“This year, we have awarded 61 scholarships to students from many different countries. My hope is that you will seize this opportunity to reach your full potential, immerse yourselves in different cultures, and connect with friends from all over the world. You are our youth ambassadors—the ones who will strengthen the bonds and deepen the understanding between Thailand and your home countries.,” said, the President.
Recipients of various MFU scholarships, such as MFU Partial Scholarship, Thailand Scholarship, and Well-being and Sustainable Future (WSF): Regional Disaster Management & Climate Resilience Graduate Scholarship, attended the event. Additionally, scholarship students from Myanmar, Uganda, and Vietnam represented the student body to express their appreciation.
Since 2005, the MFU Scholarships for International Students have supported a total of 436 students in various fields of study. Of these, 324 students have successfully graduated, while 112 students are currently pursuing their degrees at the university.
This event was a part of international student support, with the goal of grooming students to become global citizen with an understanding of diversity and cross-cultural skills.
