School of Liberal Arts Hosts “MFU Language Talent Expo 2025,” Showcasing Students’ Thai and English Skills

On 29 August 2025, the School of Liberal Arts, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), hosted the third “MFU Language Talent Expo 2025” at the General Sampao Choosri Building (E4). The event featured competitions in Thai and English language skills, giving students an opportunity to demonstrate their language proficiency, practice in real-life situations, and prepare to become global citizens in the 21st century. The expo also served as a platform to promote both the School of Liberal Arts and Mae Fah Luang University.

The competitions were divided into six categories: four in English and two in Thai. The English contests included Speech Competition, English Academic Challenge, Storytelling, and Stage Play, while the Thai contests featured “Thai Spelling Contest, and “Impromptu Poetry Contest.” A special workshop on “How to Compose Thai Poetry” was also held.

Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sorabud Rungrojsuwan, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, presided over the opening ceremony He remarked that language is not just a tool for communication but also a bridge that connects people, a medium that conveys culture, and a key that opens doors to the wider world. “This event is not only about showcasing students’ proficiency in Thai and English but also about fostering creativity, confidence, and the joy of learning. I believe all participants will gain valuable experiences—whether it be the courage to take the stage, practising teamwork, or finding inspiration from listening to others. These are lessons that will stay with us long after the competitions have ended,” he said.

The School of Liberal Arts offers two bachelor’s degree programmes: English and Thai Language and Culture for Foreigners. At the graduate level, the school offers Master’s and Doctoral programmes in English for Professional Development. In addition, it is responsible for teaching general education courses in English, Thai, foreign languages, and the humanities.
