On 31 October 2025, the School of Sinology in collaboration with the Sinology Student Club, organised the 9th Sino Show 2025, the School’s annual academic and cultural showcase at the Queen Sirikit 72nd Jubilee Sport Arena (Indoor Stadium).

The event aimed to provide students with a platform to practice essential skills, apply academic knowledge in real-world contexts, and promote learning beyond the classroom. This initiative aligns with MFU’s strategic mission to develop students into capable global citizens.

The event was created and presented by students from all four programmes of the School of Sinology — Chinese Language and Culture, Business Chinese, Chinese Studies, and Teaching Chinese Language — who joined forces to express their creativity, knowledge, and passion for the Chinese language through the performing arts.

During the preparation and execution of the Sino Show, students had a chance to enhance their Chinese language proficiency through script writing and performance, while simultaneously developing critical soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and time management. The collaborative nature of staging a large-scale production, from costume design and set construction to promotion and acting, fostered a strong sense of community and allowed students to apply their creative talents.

The opening ceremony, presided over by Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, featured welcoming remarks by Dr. Teeraparp Predeepoch, Dean of the School of Sinology and the project objectives reported by Ms. Wisaruta Srilimpong, a student project representative. The ceremony was attended by MFU executives, faculty members, students, staff, and distinguished guests who gathered to enjoy the Chinese stage play.

The highlight of Sino Show 2025 was the stage performance “Eternal Oath of Time (世纪之约)”, a production that embodies the identity and spirit of the School of Sinology. The play told the story of a young woman who discovers a mysterious diary that transports her back to the year 1970, where she encounters the life of a devoted young opera performer. Through this journey, she learns the meaning of friendship, sacrifice, and the true value of living a purposeful life.

Altogether, Sino Show 2025 not only served as a stage for showcasing MFU students’ Chinese language skills and cultural heritage but also reflected the enduring friendship between Thailand and China.
