On 5 November 2025, the School of Social Innovation, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organised a public speaking event under the JICA Chair project on the topic "Japan's contribution to regional peace and prosperity" at Mae Fah Luang University. Dr. Thanikun Chantra, Dean of the School of Social Innovation presided over the opening session.
The lecture was honoured by Professor Dr. Nobuhiro Aizawa, from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, who also served as the Dean and Managing Director of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) School of Government. Professor Aizawa delivered a special address, sharing insights on Japan’s role in promoting peace and prosperity across the ASEAN region.
The main objective of this event was to disseminate knowledge about Japan's role on the global stage and in the ASEAN region to faculty, students, and the general public. It also aimed to strengthen the partnership between Mae Fah Luang University and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Ultimately, the event contributes to the development of academic cooperation between Thai educational institutions and international organizations, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience that will benefit the region's sustainable development.
