Professor Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, together with Ms. Flavie Lepoutre, Acting-Director of the French – Upper Mekong Subregion Academic Cooperation Centre, officially welcomed the delegation from the Embassy of France in Thailand, including Mr. Ludovic ANDRES, Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation, and Ms. Sujira Panyawattana, Student Advisor at Campus France. The meeting focused on a shared objective of advancing academic and research collaboration across the Greater Mekong Subregion.

The programme commenced with the 2nd Academic Meeting on French Researchers where the French delegation engaged in discussions with MFU’s executives, faculty members, and researchers to explore opportunities for establishing and strengthening academic and research cooperation with higher education institutions in France. These discussions highlighted mobility and research funding opportunities available in Thailand through programmes supported by the French Embassy. The delegation also visited several of the University’s research facilities, for example the MFU Cosmetic Pilot Plant, Tea and Coffee Institute, Microstructure Analysis Laboratory, Food Technology Laboratory, and the Center of Excellence on Fungal Research.

In parallel, MFU hosted the Campus France Study Abroad Guidance Session at the Networking Space, providing students with information and guidance on academic pathways and study opportunities at French higher education institutions.

The programme concluded with a screening of 'Ice and the sky' movie at the Theater Room of the Learning Resources and Educational Media Center, aiming to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainability-minded perspectives through film.

The French – Upper Mekong Sub-region Academic Cooperation Centre serves as a coordinating platform for academic and research collaboration between French educational institutions and research organizations across the Greater Mekong Subregion. It aims to foster sustainable academic networks and strengthen long-term research partnerships between Mae Fah Luang University and leading institutions in France.
