MFU Celebrates International Success at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2026

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) extends its congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saowapa Chaiwong from the School of Agro-Industry, Mae Fah Luang University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tatiya Trongsatitkul from the Institute of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology. Together with their collaborative research team, they have been awarded a Silver Medal and two Special Awards from INNOPA (Indonesia) and the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2026, held from 11–15 March 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The award-winning innovation, “K-dle: eco-friendly cushion,” is an integrated, sustainable solution featuring biodegradable cushioning materials derived from natural rubber. Specifically designed to protect fruits from damage during transit, this product not only adds significant value to Thai agricultural produce but also champions environmental sustainability. By reducing the ecological footprint of logistics, "K-dle" strengthens the competitiveness of Thai fruits in premium international markets.

This innovative solution features a biodegradable cushioning material made from natural rubber, designed to effectively protect fruits from damage during transportation. The product not only enhances the value of Thai agricultural produce but also supports sustainability by reducing environmental impact, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Thai fruits in premium international markets.

The Exhibition is an annual fair that gives participants an opportunity to showcase cutting-edge inventions. This year’s event brought together more than 1,000 inventions from 40 countries and regions. Therefore, the research team also expresses their sincere appreciation to the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for its support in enabling their participation on this global stage, contributing to the advancement of Thailand’s research and innovation ecosystem. 

This achievement reflects the strong potential of interdisciplinary research collaboration between Thai universities in addressing global challenges through innovation. It highlights the integration of agricultural and engineering expertise to deliver practical and sustainable solutions with international impact.
