On 31 March 2026, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), represented by Prof. Dr.Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President, participated in a high-level meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Embassy to Thailand. The delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Sean K. The discussions served as a formal introduction for newly appointed Ambassador and underscored the collaborative efforts between the U.S. Consulate in Chiang Mai, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Chiang Rai province. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to provincial-level cooperation in preventing and addressing shared security challenges— particularly drug trafficking and cyber-scams.

The dialogue also focused on trade, agricultural, and technological cooperation between the two countries, aimed at facilitating the exchange of goods, technology and agricultural innovations, thereby enhancing value-added production.

As a higher educational institution located in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), MFU actively serves as a coordinating partner, working across sectors at both national and international levels. The university remains committed to driving sustainable development and enhancing the well-being of the region through academic and strategic partnerships.
