MFU Celebrates 14-Medal Win at the 42nd Thailand University Staff Games

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) triumphed at the 42nd Thailand University Staff Games (SWU Games 2026), held from 27 May to 4 June 2026 at Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak Campus in Nakhon Nayok Province.

Organised under the concept of “Health & Happiness”, this year’s tournament aimed primarily to promote physical well-being and foster happiness among university personnel nationwide.  The event brought together 8,000 higher education staff members from 65 institutions across Thailand to compete in 19 sports categories.

The MFU delegation was led by Mr. Vittayasak Rujivorakul, Vice President, serving as Head of the Delegation, alongside Mr. Somyos Chantapoon, Head of the MFU Sports Complex Centre, as Deputy Head of the Delegation. For this year’s competition, MFU deployed a total of 70 athletes and 8 supporting staff members to compete in 8 sports categories: futsal, petanque, badminton, volleyball, athletics, swimming, e-sports, and golf. MFU proudly secured a total of 14 medals, placing 16th out of 65 participating universities nationwide. 

The medal haul includes:

  • 5 Gold Medals
  • 5 Silver Medals
  • 4 Bronze Medals

Medal Breakdown by Sport:

  • Athletics: 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals
  • Golf: 1 Gold and 1 Silver medal
  • Swimming: 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal

The achievement reflects MFU’s ongoing commitment to becoming a university for well-being and a sustainable future, with a particular focus on the health and happiness of its personnel and students. Beyond serving as a platform for improving physical health, the competition allowed MFU staff to showcase their athletic talents, exchange valuable experiences, and build enduring networks of friendship with peer institutions.
