On 9 June 2026, the School of Management at Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) hosted the opening ceremony of its Short-term Mobility Programme, welcoming students and faculty members from the Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The ceremony took place at the M for U, M-Square Building, bringing together a total of 27 participants from both institutions for this year's programme.

Dr. Piyatida Pianluprasidh, Dean of the School of Management, presided over the opening ceremony. In her remarks, she emphasised that the programme is a significant step forward in strengthening the school's internationalisation efforts.

“The School focuses on encouraging students to learn through real cross-cultural experiences, develop their English skills, and build the ability to collaborate with international peers—all of which are essential competencies for graduates in today's world ," Dr. Piyatida stated.

Following the opening ceremony, participants took part in a "Coffee Tasting" workshop, a hands-on activity designed to integrate management knowledge with the distinctive local identity of Chiang Rai's coffee industry. A campus tour was also arranged to familiarize the visiting Malaysian delegation with MFU's learning environment and facilities.

Over the course of the 10-day program from 8–17 June 2026, students from both institutions will collaborate on Service-Learning (SULAM) activities.  Under the close supervision of faculty advisors from both institutions, they will conduct field visits and apply their accounting and management knowledge to address real-world business challenges.

This programme reflects the deep and enduring partnership between MFU and UiTM. The collaboration officially began in 2022 with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to support joint international research activities. The partnership was further strengthened on 25 February 2026 with  the signing of a Letter of Intent, extending the joint cooperation to cover teaching and learning, academic services, and experiential exchange activities for both students and faculty.
