ADT MFU Students Win First Prize and First Runner-Up at Physical UI Design-athon 2026
Categories: ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษMae Fah Luang University proudly congratulates students from the Software Engineering (SE) and Multimedia Technology and Animation (MTA) programmes, School of Applied Digital Technology (ADT) for their outstanding achievements at the “Physical UI Design-athon 2026.” The competition was held from 17–19 June 2026 at FUTURIUM, National Science Museum Thailand (NSM) in Pathum Thani.
MFU students showcased exceptional talent, taking home top honours:
- First Prize: Team “เจ๊าะแจ๊ะ” (JawJae)
- First Runner-Up: Team “MBF”
- Additionally, MFU Team “Bluetooth Device Is Connected” demonstrated their creativity, dedication, and ability in developing an engaging Physical UI prototype.
The competition was organised by the Bangkok ACM SIGCHI Chapter in collaboration with the National Science Museum (NSM). It aimed to create a platform for Thai youth to collaboratively design concepts and build prototypes for Physical Interaction innovations and interactive learning media. The goal was to elevate the presentation of knowledge in science, technology, and innovation — along with the meaningful opportunity to develop these ideas further into real exhibitions and learning activities at the FUTURIUM space of the National Science Museum.
Before reaching the final showcase, all 13 competing teams, totalling 39 participants, underwent an intensive process of learning and refining their ideas through a series of boundary-breaking activities, as follows:
- Pre-event (Online Training): Foundational design preparation led by expert speakers
- On-site Training: In-depth, specialized techniques explored on the day of the event
Throughout the two-and-a-half-day competition, all three MFU teams, comprising nine students, explored the FUTURIUM environment. They investigated user needs, gathered insights, developed creative ideas, designed user experiences, and successfully transformed their concepts into functional Physical User Interface prototypes.
With two of the three participating teams securing major awards, this marks another proud achievement for the School of Applied Digital Technology and Mae Fah Luang University. This success strongly reflects the potential and caliber of ADT MFU students in integrating User Interface (UI) Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Physical Interaction, digital technology, creativity, and teamwork, even under the pressure of limited time and resources.
