Categories: SDG03 SDG04 SDG08 ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษMae Fah Luang University (MFU), through the School of Health Science and the Center for Academic Services, hosted the "Youth Strength & Conditioning Coach Training Programme" from 22 to 24 July 2026, at the Sports and Health Science Laboratory, MFU Sports Complex Center. This hands-on workshop gathered 37 physical education teachers, sports coaches, fitness trainers, physical therapists, and individuals interested in fitness nationwide.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Panupong Patarachao, Project Leader and Lecturer at the School of Health Science, explained that the project aims to elevate the knowledge and skills of sports coaches, fitness trainers, and physical education teachers. The training empowers them to properly design and implement safe, high-performance physical fitness training programmes tailored specifically for young athletes, grounded in academic principles. The programme also incorporates sports as a tool for skill development and motivation among young people, in line with the Sports Authority of Thailand's strategic plan for developing sporting excellence and professional athletics.
Mr. Panupong noted that developing sports coaches with genuine expertise in sports science is essential for safely and sustainably enhancing the potential of young athletes. Properly structured long-term training not only reduces the risk of injury but also builds lasting confidence and well-being among young athletes.
Furthermore, an understanding of sports science and approaches to youth development is a crucial foundation for raising athletic performance at every level. This requires strict attention to long-term training standards and injury-risk reduction, both of which are necessary for building strength and physical fitness, as well as promoting exercise and sports participation among young people to inspire them and support their overall wellbeing.
Ultimately, this initiative aligns with the mission of the School of Health Science at Mae Fah Luang University to apply health science knowledge to improve the health and well-being of local communities. Moreover, equipping coaches with the expertise to design standardardised training programmes from the youth level upwards is essential for sustainably supporting the development of the nation's high-quality workforce in the future.
