MFU and Mahidol University Join Forces to Advance Healthcare Education, Research, and Innovation

On 14 August 2026, a Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) delegation, including University Council members and executives, visited Mahidol University (MU) to exchange organisational visions. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Clinical Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., Chairman of the Mahidol University Council. 

Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of the Mae Fah Luang University Council, highlighted MFU’s strategic development and direction. Meanwhile, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, shared administrative strategies to harness institutional strengths for higher education and societal development. 

Following the vision-sharing session, Mahidol University and Mae Fah Luang University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation. The agreement was signed by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., and Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, and witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sittiwat Lertsiri and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phanuphong Chaiwut. The partnership aims to build learning organisations and enhance community well-being through holistic healthcare systems, advanced instruction, context-driven research and innovation, as well as the development of medical and public health professionals. 

The initiative engages the School of Medicine in promoting advanced clinical research and expanding knowledge in herbal products, functional foods, and cosmeceuticals. The collaboration focuses on applying academic research and innovation to local communities and leveraging regional cultural assets to create long-term social value.

Furthermore, both universities will promote joint academic programmes, including cross-institutional enrolment for General Education courses. By combining their expertise in science, medicine, and public health, MFU and Mahidol University aim to generate practical knowledge and innovations that drive sustainable societal growth.
