On 14 August 2026, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), through the School of Liberal Arts, hosted the 4th "MFU Language Talent Expo 2026," bringing together 185 high school students from 33 secondary schools across the upper northern Thailand. The event gave students authentic opportunities to apply their English, Thai, Japanese, and Korean language skills beyond the classroom, developing their potential as global citizens in the 21st century. Beyond the competitions, the expo helped expand educational networks, deepen inter-institutional ties, showcase university programmes, and reflect MFU’s commitment to developing the nation's human capital.

The expo featured a diverse array of competitions, including English Storytelling, English Speech Challenge, English Academic Challenge, English Stage Play, English Pictorial Writing, Thai Spelling Bee, along with Japanese and Korean Storytelling contests, as well as language learning exhibitions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sorabud Rungrojsuwan, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, presided over the opening ceremony at Kham Mok Luang Room, M-Square Building, welcoming participating teachers and students.

During his opening address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sorabud Rungrojsuwan emphasised that language is not just a communication tool, but it also acts as a bridge for connecting people from different cultures, broadening perspectives, and contributing to mutual understanding, respect, and empathy. The MFU Language Talent Expo provided students with a space to apply their skills in practical settings while fostering the creativity, teamwork, and intercultural awareness essential for modern life. He also expressed hope that the event would inspire lifelong learning while strengthening ties among partner schools to nurture capable global communicators.
