MFU Hosts Feng Chia University Delegation for Sustainability and Research Talks

On 26 August 2026, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) welcomed a delegation from Feng Chia University, Taiwan, together with representatives from the Taichung Light-up Rotary Club (District 3461). The visit focused on expanding academic, research, and environmental sustainability partnerships between the two institutions.

Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President overseeing the Centre for Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM), led the MFU team in receiving the delegation. The visiting group was headed by Distinguished Prof. Dr. Chen-Yeon Chu, Dean of the Office of Sustainability at Feng Chia University and Former President of the Taichung Light-up Rotary Club. The delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mei-Ling Yeh, Chief of the Geographic Information Systems Research Center and current President of the Taichung Light-up Rotary Club; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cheng-Chia Huang, Chief of the Division of Sustainability; and Mrs. Shu-Dawn Li, Secretary of the Office of Sustainability; as well as Rotary Club members and university interns. 

Discussions covered plans to establish an International Joint Sustainability-Practice Site under the Double 10 Project and a Rotary International Service Project in Chiang Rai. Both institutions also explored joint research initiatives and academic exchanges. In addition, the delegation visited five Feng Chia University students currently undertaking internships at MFU. 

MFU and Feng Chia University share a long-standing collaboration and consistently engage in academic activities. The visit reinforces the deep collaboration and extends the partnership into wider fields, which aligns with MFU’s strategy to broaden international collaboration and advance natural resource management and sustainable development with global partners.
