MFU Hosts "Walk Beyond the Wild" to Foster Student Unity and Environmental Awareness

On 29 August 2026, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), through the Student Union, Student Council, and Student Development Affairs Division, organised the "Walk beyond the Wild” event. The initiative aimed to build unity among students through MFU’s traditions while instilling sustainable environmental awareness inspired by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra’s royal aspiration, "Cultivating Forests, Creating People." 

The event engaged first-year undergraduate students from 14 schools, alongside university executives, faculty members, staff, senior students, and alumni. Participants gathered at the Office of the MFU Botanical Garden before navigating the trail behind Doi Ngam. Along the route, students completed eight interactive activity stations focused on human-nature harmony: 1) Faith Leading the Way, 2) Roam to Love, 3) Reforesting Across the River, 4) Overhead Powder Pass, 5) Cultivating Forests, Creating People, 6) Mystery Jar Challenge, 7) ‘Draw Plai Doi’ (Art at the Mountain Peak), and 8 ) SDGs: Fact or Fiction 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of MFU, joined the walk and addressed the first-year students: 
"The path we walk together today offers more than an appreciation of the Botanical Garden’s natural beauty; it reflects the Princess Mother’s vision of 'Cultivating Forests, Building People,' which signifies how nature and humanity support one another. If obstacles arise along the way, I hope that you, as the 28th Batch of Lamduan, will look out for one another, lend a helping hand, and support each other in working toward your shared goals."

To instill environmental conservation awareness, the university has consistently engaged students in reforestation projects over its 27-year history to enhance quality of life and restore natural habitats. Notably, nearly every tree on campus was planted by MFU students from generations to generations.
