On 4 September 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Machima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Vice President, university executives, and deans, welcomed a delegation from Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD), Thailand Office, led by Dr. Tay Boon Keng, an orthopaedic specialist, along with executives and medical personnel. The delegation was welcomed at the Vanchai Sirichana Building (AD1). The visit aimed to explore opportunities for further academic and clinical cooperation in medicine and public health.

Through its Centre for Area-based Research and Social Innovation for Sustainable Development (CRSISD) and the Community Border Health Area-Based Research Unit under the School of Health Sciences, MFU has collaborated with SingHealth on human resource development and cross-border capacity-building initiatives in the Mekong Subregion.

The meeting began with an overview of MFU, the MFU Medical Center Hospital, and its six health sciences schools: the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, School of Health Science, School of Integrative Medicine, and School of Social Innovation. Following the briefing, the delegation toured the facilities of the MFU Medical Center Hospital.

The discussion focused on knowledge exchange in medical education and healthcare services, with both sides exploring opportunities for future academic and clinical collaboration. The initiative reflects MFU’s commitment to expanding its international health sciences network and strengthening cooperation with leading healthcare institutions to contribute to improved healthcare standards across the Upper Northern Region of Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion.
