MFU Secures Joint 6th in Thailand in THE World University Rankings 2027, Maintaining No. 1 in Thailand for International Outlook for 7 Years Straight

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) was placed in the 1,201–1,400 band globally among 2,297 ranked higher education institutions worldwide, achieving an overall score of 30.5–33.2 points in THE World University Rankings 2027”, released on 30 September 2026. MFU was ranked joint 6th in Thailand among the 24 Thai universities included in the rankings.

MFU maintained its No. 1 position in Thailand for seven consecutive years in International Outlook, one of the five core pillars of the THE World University Rankings methodology. This pillar assesses the proportions of international students and staff as well as international research collaboration. MFU achieved a score of 65.0 points, an increase from 64.1 points in 2026, reflecting the continued strength of the University’s international academic environment and global institutional networks.

The ranking results align with the University’s internationalisation strategy under the vision “A Global Partner for Well-being and Sustainable Future.” MFU aims to build an environment conducive to international learning and joint research, while promoting academic collaboration with global partner institutions to enrich learning experiences and elevate students' competencies in a global context.

Building on this international recognition, MFU advances educational quality and research by integrating academic resources with local wisdom to address area-based challenges. Concurrently, knowledge on climate change and environmental sustainability is embedded across curricula to prepare graduates for future challenges and equip them with global citizenship competencies. Through Outcome-Based Education (OBE) that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-directed learning, the University enriches lifelong learning skills and advances knowledge for real-world application to benefit the nation and global society, ultimately leading to well-being and a sustainable future.
