MFU Holds “Run, Hide, Fight” Active Shooter Survival Skills Training
Categories: SDG04 SDG16 ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษThe Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Students Club, in collaboration with the Student Development Affairs Division of Mae Fah Luang University, organised the “Run, Hide, Fight” survival skills training session on 10 October 2026 at Pradoo Daeng Room 1, General Sampao Choosri Building (E4). Instructors from the ROTC Unit of the 37th Military Circle served as trainers, preparing students to respond effectively to violence and active threat incidents in educational institutions and public spaces.
The training was structured into three comprehensive sessions.
- Session 1 (core protocol): Introduced survival techniques based on the globally recognised “Run, Hide, Fight” framework—evacuating the danger zone as the primary option, securing cover and hiding when escape is impossible, and fighting as a last resort to defend one’s life.
- Session 2 (threat assessment): Focused on rapid situational awareness and sound decision-making under intense pressure.
- Session 3 (practical simulation): Provided hands-on experience through realistic emergency scenarios.
Organised in response to the unexpected nature of public violence and active shooter treats, the training aimed to equip students with fundamental response skills that mitigate danger and significantly improves survival outcomes during critical emergencies.
This activity reflects MFU’s commitment to fostering essential life skills alongside academic learning while maintaining a safe and secure campus environment. Moving forward, the Student Development Affairs Division plans to continue delivering comprehensive safety preparedness programmes for the student body.
