Categories: SDG03 SDG05 SDG17 ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษMae Fah Luang University (MFU), through the French-Upper Mekong Subregion Academic Cooperation Centre and the Global Relations Division, organised a “Women Empowerment” Self-defense Workshop on 22 October 2026 at the Chongkho Room, M-Square Building. The workshop welcomed more than 20 students and staff members, providing them with practical knowledge and skills to build self-confidence, enhance personal safety, and respond effectively to potentially dangerous situations.
The training covered stress, mindset, and fear management; personal protection; techniques for escaping wrist, collar, neck, and hair grabs; the use of everyday objects for self-defense; and practical exercises based on real-life scenarios.
Ms. Flavie LEPOUTRE, Head of the French-Upper Mekong Subregion Academic Cooperation Centre, delivered the welcoming remarks and joined participants in the hands-on training. Led by professional French instructors from BSPT Security Training, a specialist in bodyguard and close-protection training, the workshop combined practical demonstrations with hands-on practice to help participants develop essential self-defense techniques applicable to everyday situations.
The workshop reflects MFU’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment where students and staff can develop the confidence and practical skills needed to protect themselves. It also supports the university’s broader efforts to promote personal well-being, gender equality, and international knowledge exchange.
