MFU Partners with EURAXESS ASEAN to Build Researcher Capacity for Horizon Europe Grants

The Research Administration Division of Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), in collaboration with EURAXESS ASEAN, hosted the “Horizon Europe Funding Opportunities for Thailand” event on 29 October 2026 at the M4U Networking Space. Dr. K.R.M.H. Tatas H.P. Brotosudarmo, EURAXESS Worldwide Representative for ASEAN, served as the guest speaker, guiding faculty members and researchers on securing European Union research and innovation grants and expanding international research partnerships.

Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, MFU Vice President, welcomed participants and opened the event. Mr. Karnkul Bumroongchad, Head of the Research Administration Division, noted that accessing international research funding such as Horizon Europe elevates university research standards while strengthening collaborative networks across Europe and ASEAN. 

The event featured a special lecture, a practical bootcamp and an interactive session, covering three key areas: 1) the Horizon Europe framework as the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation, 2) funding opportunities and application approaches under the Work Program 2026–2027 ASEAN Initiative, and 3) skills and tools for drafting project proposals and building international research networks. 

During the final session, participants engaged in a Q&A segment and joined a partner-finding activity with international research networks to enhance their grant application prospects. 

Initiated by the European Commission, EURAXESS supports researcher mobility and cooperation between Europe and global regions. In line with its vision to be a global partner for well-being and a sustainable future, MFU continues to advance research internationalisation by building researcher capacity and expanding partnerships with international institutions and funding bodies.
