GREAT PROGRAM: the 1st OHSU-MFU Research Course

To build a capacity for conducting quality clinical and epidemiologic research, the School of Medicine at Mae Fah Luang University and the Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU) Global Program organised the Global Research, Education & Training (GREAT) program for MFU clinicians and health professionals from 4 - 8 November 2019.

The GREAT programme is the 1st collaborative research course between OHSU and MFU.  It was held to help 25 health professionals from the School of Medicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Nursing, the School of Health Science and the School of Integrative Medicine to develop their research skills.

After completing the course, all participants were equipped with the fundamentals of critical review of the literature, posing a testable research question, the various study design options for generating and testing hypotheses, and basic bio-statistical skills.

Overall, this training contributed to improving patient care through quality clinical and epidemiologic research.
