Programme’s Philosophy

The philosophy of the Public Health Program is to promote health and prevent  health threats . To resolve health problems and health systems which evolve around the diversities of society, culture, environment, geography, and demographic of population, there will be needs for skilled and knowledgeable personnels. The personnels who gain understandings of the specific context of population which enable them to analyze and synthesize the appropriate epidemiology, and develop the system and innovation to effectively solve the health problems. This will lead to the betterment of health and quality of life for mankind which later enhancing economics and improving society and culture in the future.

The Doctor of Philisophy Program in Public Health, majoring in Epidemiology focuses on graduates' development via constructivism model. The graduates will attain advanced research skills as well as knows how to prevent and protect the health threats  throughout the advanced learning from world-class experts and institutions, the field training with epidemiological officers, and the dissertation which contains the potential innovation that can effectively prevent and protect health threats . These methods are learned from different activities in various contexts and populations to deeply understand, increase the interactions, heighten the leadership in order to promote the lifelong learning of graduates from this program.

 

Programme’s Objectives

To produce the epidemiologists with ethics, morals, and experiences of protect and prevent health threats in real life. The epidemiologists who have potential to do the advanced research and innovation that can prevent the health threats in complicate and vulnerable population with the different backgrounds and later leads to policies development.

 

Programme’s Highlights

The program provides teaching and learning methods in social context that address differences of culture, society, communities, people, and geography which are associated with health threats. This program produces graduates who are understanding in epidemiology and other sciences, especially the social and humanities of public health. Graduates understand and are able to solve health threats effectively. Graduates will develop knowledge , skills and competency by research-based and field epidemiology training-based.
