A Warm Welcome to New Members of MFU’s International Family

The MFU International Affairs Division and International Students Club organised the “International Students Orientation 2/2016” on 20 January 2017, in room 304, C1 Building. The orientation was held for helping new international students become more familiar with MFU and each other. This semester, MFU welcomed 65 new international students including 55 bachelor’s degree students; 1 master’s degree student and 9 doctoral degree students from 9 countries: China, Myanmar, Bhutan, Sudan, Korea, Japan, UK, Mauritus and Sri Lanka. MFU also welcomed14 exchange students from 7 countries including Austria, Philippines, Brunei, Finland, Germany, Malaysia, and France. Over the past 19 years, MFU has welcomed more than 600 students from around the globe. This contribution shows MFU’s effort to increase its diversity and to provide an international education.

In his welcoming address, MFU President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana provided a few tips of advice to new international students about how to adjust to university life. He also encouraged students to learn new things outside of the classroom. Following his speech, members from various service centres and divisions at the university provided important information to new students about MFU’s services and its rules and regulations.
