A Visit to The Royal Bhutanese Embassy for Strengthening Collaboration

     On 1 June 2023, Mae Fah Luang University executives consisting of Adj. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of Mae Fah Luang University Council, Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, Acting President of Mae Fah Luang University; Prof. Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Acting Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Advisor to the President; and Ms. Wannapha Thippayasak, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Kinzang Dorji, Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, Bangkok.

     Ambassador Kinzang Dorji congratulated Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn and new executives on their appointment. Also, the ambassador expressed his appreciation to Mae Fah Luang University for its unwavering support extended to students from Bhutan as well as for providing scholarships to Bhutanese students particularly in the health sciences. 

     During the meeting, MFU executives and Ambassador Kinzang Dorji discussed ways to strengthen academic cooperation in the field of health sciences, including possibilities of exchanging lecturers and initiating a short-term Nursing Assistant training course at MFU in order to address the staffing shortage.  

     Mae Fah Laung University and Bhutan have a long-standing relationship and have worked together for academic cooperation. MFU arranged training courses in cosmetic science especially in natural cosmetic products for Bhutanese staff. Moreover, the University offered scholarships for Bhutanese students to study Nursing programme at MFU with aims to support human resource development and deepen people to people relations.
