The School of Sinology Visits Partner Universities in China for Deepening Academic Cooperation

On 3 – 9 March 2024, Dr.Teeraparp Predeepoch, Dean of the School of Sinology and lecturers of Business Chinese programme and Chinese Studies programme visited partner universities in China namely Huaqiao University, Xiamen University and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics for deepening academic cooperation.

During a visit to Huaqiao University, the School of Sinology’s delegates attended the signing ceremony for renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic cooperation and exchange between Mae Fah Luang University and Huaqiao University and explored other potential areas of collaboration at Chinese Language and Culture College of Huaqiao University. In addition, MFU delegates had a discussion with representatives of the Research Institute of Global Chinese and Area Studies and the College of International Relations, Huaqiao University about an exchange of lecturers and students as well as research collaboration between the two universities.

Furthermore, the School of Sinology’s delegates visited Xiamen University to meet representatives of Chinese International Education College / Overseas Education College and the School of International Relations / Research School for Southeast Asian Studies. Then, delegates visited the School of Oversea Education, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics to discuss about students of the School of Sinology, MFU who are currently attending short courses in China and explore possibilities for cooperation on student exchange programme and research between the two universities.

Altogether, the visit to Chinese partner universities gave a great opportunity for the university to not only strengthen relationships but also unlock new opportunities for academic cooperation in education, research, training programme between Mae Fah Luang University and partners, which will promote the academic exchange and development between Thailand and China.
