On 8 June 2024, Mae Fah Luang University students participated in the regional pitching round for the Northern Region of the Startup Thailand League 2024, held at Chiang Mai University. Competing against teamts from eight universities under Northern Science Park, MFU students showcased distinguished performances and creativity, securing top awards.
- Digipeak team (Mr. Simeown Todsawongwat, School of Information Technology; Ms. Anadda Ginboran, School of Cosmetic Science; Mr. Worapas Tawunwoot, School of Information Technology), with their Dargonfly (smart farming drone), won the first prize of 10,000 baht. Their advisor is Asst. Prof. Gp. Capt. Dr.Thongchai Yooyativong from the School of Information Technology.
- Mediguard team (Ms. Kanyanat Somtong, School of Health Science; Mr. Tanat Na Nongkhai, School of Cosmetic Science; Ms. Phattharika YOUNGVAL, School of Health Science) secured the second prize of 7,000 baht for their innovative wound dressings. The project is a further development based on research by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Orawan Suwantong, a lecturer of the School of Science. Their advisor is John Owen Gibson, M.D. the School of Medicine.
- 2ANP team (Ms. Kulchaya Paphamananuam, Ms. Naphatsaphon Jaemyu, Ms. Thipayaporn Kathisart, all from the School of Cosmetic Science) won the prize of 25,000 baht to further develop their Microderma eye patches with hydrogel microneedle technology. They will be presenting the product at the Demo Day. Their advisor is Dr.Thapakorn Tree-udom from the School of Cosmetic Science.
