MFU President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanchai Sirichana and Deputy Secretary-General for the Office of the Higher Education Commission Assoc. Prof. Bundit Thipakorn along with other executives from MFU visited the Republic of the Union of Myanmar from 31 January – 3 February 2017.
The delegations paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata at the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon. Furthermore, former Union Minister for the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and PhD alumni of MFU H.E. U Htay Aung hosted luncheon for the delegations and then they discussed the activities of MFU alumni in Myanmar.
The delegations then received a warm welcome from the Rector of the National Management Degree College Ms. Daw Tin Tin Htwe, before the discussion on the training programme and the management of the NMC.
In addition, the delegates from MFU, OHEC and the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education of Myanmar discussed a training programme for high-ranking personnel of higher education institutions (HEIs) in both Thailand and Myanmar. The programme is funded by the OHEC and aims to share best practices in HEI management, develop possible collaborations and foster the HEIs’ administrative network.
