On 30 August 2024, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) and Marriott International signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort. The agreement, signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Darunee Wattanasiriwech, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University and Mrs. Priya Panjikar, Area Director of Human Resources for Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar at Marriott International, aims to establish collaboration in human resource development and enhance the learning experiences and employment opportunities for MFU students in the hospitality industry.
The partnership focuses on creating an internship programme and promoting essential skills and knowledge for future careers by inviting Marriott International professionals to speak to MFU students in both online and on-site classes.
This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing the quality of hospitality education in Thailand and providing students with opportunities to learn from one of the world's largest hotel companies. The partnership will enhance the competitive advantage of Thai professionals in the global labour market.
