On 17 January 2025, Mae Fah Luang University students and staff members competed in the 29th Braille Reading and Writing Contest organised by the Thailand Association of the Blind in collaboration with the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Ratchasuda College of Mahidol University, Thammikachon Foundation for the Blind in Thailand Under the Royal Patronage, and several partners in the field of blindness in Thailand.
In the Chinese Braille category, Ms. Sawanya Seema, a staff member of the Disability Support Services of Mae Fah Luang University (DSS) and an MFU Business Chinese graduate, achieved first place with a score of 99.5 points. She won the first prize and a trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in the contest for two consecutive years.
Moreover, Mr. Jirawat Pornputimaetee, a 4th-year student in the Teaching Chinese Language programme, School of Sinology, won third place with a score of 97 points.
With the goal for promoting well-being and sustainable future, the university’s Disability Support Services (DSS), affiliated with the Student Development Affairs Division, has the missions to give advices, assist and support to students with disabilities to ensure equitable access all university’s services, facilities and academic resources.
