Operational Guideline for MFU International Students (First Semester of Academic Year 2020)

Notification of Mae Fah Luang University on Operational Guidelines for International Students for Academic Year 2020 according to the Preventive Measures against the Spread of COVID-19

Regarding the entry to Thailand, Thailand has the Measures to enter Thailand for non-Thai nationals who are students and you’re required to prepare the necessary documents required by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) prior to traveling to Thailand.


Please read the following information thoroughly, and please keep in mind that all information is subject to change following updates of pandemic prevention measures by the Thai Government.

Guideline for New Students and Current Students


 

During quarantine and self-monitoring, 

1. Stay at home, do not socialize. You are not allowed to enter the classroom. 

2. Wear a protective mask, if you need to go out.

3. Measure your body temperature twice a day (morning and night)

2. By Phone

Before Departure:

- International students are allowed to enter Thailand so you are required to prepare all important documents.
- Please check with the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for visa application information. Please note that students should apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa "ED" (Education) to study in Thailand. Website: http://www.consular.go.th/main/th/other/7393

- If you test positive for COVID-19 after entry to Thailand and need medical treatment, you are responsible for all medical expenses. Therefore, you’re required to purchase medical /travel insurance covering COVID-19  before you come to Thailand.

 

Upon Arrival

Quarantine: Arriving passengers are required to stay at an alternative state quarantine for 14 days, followed by 7 days of self-monitoring in private accommodation or a dormitory.

Medical Insurance

All international students must have medical insurance covering the duration of stay in Thailand.

1. You must buy an international health insurance plan covering COVID-19 (not less than 100,000 USD) in your home country before departure.
2. International students who have their own health insurance that cover the treatment of type exist in Thailand and it covers period of studying at MFU, please submit proof of insurance to e-mail:yaowapa.pho@mfu.ac.th by 4 September 2020 in order to except for payment of the 1,900 baht/year health insurance which MFU has provided.

 

Tuition Fee Payment for MFU International Students
1.    Regularly check the information/announcement notified via REG system 
2.    Contact the university via your Lamduan e-mail 
3.    Hold a Bangkok Bank account and keep it active because all refunds will be paid to Thai bank accounts with your name only.
4.    If possible, download the Bualuang mBanking application to your mobile phone for making online payment such as certificate of student status or transcript request fees. You will need these documents for Non-Immigrant ED Visa applications when the COVID-19 is under control. 
5.    If you cannot make payment through a mobile application, then transfer money to the university’s bank account according to the following details:

6.    After making payment, you need to submit a payment slip to finance@mfu.ac.th specifying your name and student ID for officer’s reference. (CC:mail to global@mfu.ac.th just in case)


Educational Document Request (Certificate of Student Status or a Transcript) for Current MFU International Students
If you want to request for a certificate of student status or a transcript for visa application, you can request via https://reg.mfu.ac.th/DocumentRequest/.  
Also, you can receive the scanned document via email by informing the Division of Registrar through reg@mfu.ac.th.
