We are inviting all higher education professionals, managers, and academics to join ASEFInnoLab6 themed "Universities' Role in Developing Skills for an AI-Powered Future"!
Since its establishment in 2021, the ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory has provided a platform for higher education professionals, academics, and researchers across Asia and Europe to connect, exchange knowledge, and collaboratively address global challenges.
Now on its sixth edition, this initiative will bring together up to 200 participants whose passion and interest lie in bridging skill and knowledge gaps and addressing skill needs for the AI-powered and driven future.
What does ASEFInnoLab6 offer?
I. Online Phase (Virtual, 14 May to 23 July 2025)
- Self-Learning Phase (4 weeks). Gain new insights and refresh your knowledge on skill needs, trends, and the policy landscape in Asia and Europe along with 200 like-minded professionals. The interactive webinar sessions will provide the foundation for your ASEFInnoLab6 participation through expert presentations, open discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
- Team Learning Phase (7 weeks). Collaborate in a multidisciplinary, intercultural group of 3-5 peers on one of two outputs:
- Micro-credential programme outline - Design a programme proposal on AI skills literacy aligned with industry and academic needs
- Academic paper concept - Develop an academic paper idea that focuses on strategic approaches for universities to address skill needs in an AI era
II. Onsite Events (In-Person, October to December 2025)
- Depending on their engagement and chosen output in the Online Phase, a group may get the chance to join one of the three onsite events in collaboration with Fudan University, China, De La Salle University, the Philippines and Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, Slovakia in autumn.
Who can apply?
For this year’s Online Phase, we envision to bring together higher education professionals, academics, and researchers from Asia and Europe who meet the following criteria
- Is working with AI-related teaching, learning, research, management initiatives
- Holds citizenship and residency in eligible ASEF partner countries
- Has excellent command of English (written and verbal)
Participants are not required to have technical or coding skills, as the programme focuses on academic dialogue and collaboration.
