Categories: ข่าวภาษาอังกฤษ

The School of Integrative Medicine, in collaboration with the Center for Academic Services, organised a hands-on training workshop titled “The Real Core Exercise and Basic Mat Pilates for Physical Therapist in Orthopedic Conditions” from 4 to 6 June 2025 at the General Sampao Choosri (E4) Building. The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of physical therapists, medical professionals, and other interested participants in core muscle exercises using basic Pilates techniques. Over 30 participants attended the event.

Dr. Sulukkana Noiprasert, Dean of the School of Integrative Medicine officially opened the workshop. It featured both theoretical and practical sessions to provide participants with a thorough understanding of safe and correct movement principles. The workshop emphasised the application of these techniques in patients with orthopedic conditions, equipping participants with practical knowledge that can be effectively applied in clinical or community-based physical therapy settings.

The workshop was led by Ms. Thidarat Aramwattanachai, a freelance physical therapy specialist in musculoskeletal conditions, Master Pilates, and sports coach. She was joined by Ms. Yadanuch Boonyaratn, a lecturer in the Physical Therapy Programme at the School of Integrative Medicine, Mae Fah Luang University.

Pilates is a form of exercise that integrates both body and mind, promoting core muscle strength, movement control, and breathing techniques. It plays a vital role in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and enhancing long-term quality of life, particularly for the elderly, individuals with office syndrome, and those with muscle weakness.

This workshop aligns with MFU’s vision to become a leading university striving for well-being and a sustainable future.  Participants gained valuable knowledge, hands-on experience, and inspiration to apply what they learned in real-world settings, contributing to the sustainable improvement of patient care and the well-being of the Thai population. The initiative also supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
•    SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: by promoting tangible and practical healthcare approaches;
•    SDG 4: Quality Education: through the development of skills for healthcare professionals;
•    SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: by fostering collaboration among universities, academic institutions, and nationwide participants.
