On 9 June 2025, the Global Relations Division, in collaboration with the Chiang Rai Immigration Office, organised a special lecture titled “Regulations on the Stay of Foreign Nationals in Thailand” at the M for U Centre, M-Square Building. The lecture aimed to prepare MFU personnel by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and readiness to support and advise foreign nationals engaged in various activities with the university, whether as students, lecturers, researchers, or administrative staff. More than 50 participants, including university executives, lecturers, heads of divisions, and staff from various units involved in international student services, attended the session.
The event began with a report by Dr. Nichan Singhaputargun, Acting Head of the Global Relations Division, followed by welcoming remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Vice President of MFU.
The session featured expert speakers from the Chiang Rai Immigration Office, including Police Lieutenant Colonel (Female) Nattaya Khadphab, Inspector of the Chiang Rai Immigration Office; Police Captain Saksit Chaiyamee, Sub-Inspector; and Police Captain Sittichoak Luanprasert, Sub-Inspector. The lecture focused on key topics covering required documents such as passports, visa types, document expiration dates, channels and timeframes for entering Thailand and Chiang Rai, as well as procedures and timelines related to documentation and activities of foreign nationals. The lecture particularly addressed matters concerning university-related processes, with the Global Relations Division serving as the university’s primary unit for facilitating and coordinating all related matters.
